- Applies to principal cardholders of Citi Octopus Credit Card. One successful registration with the principal designated card is required during the Promotion Period through the Designated Registration Page, SMS, or Citi Mobile App when applicable; supplementary cards and linked Citi Mobile Octopus are registered automatically. Earlier successful registrations for the named KMB/LWB/CTB/NWFB and transport-rebate promotions are carried forward automatically. Eligibility starts on the first day of the calendar month in which registration is completed. Monthly Eligible Transactions aggregate across the holder's eligible Citi credit cards (including supplementary cards) and eligible Citibank Debit Mastercard transactions. Credit-card transactions must post within the calendar month by transaction date; debit-card transactions must post within the month by posting date. Eligible spend includes posted local and overseas retail transactions and qualifying Merchant Installment Plan transactions; the terms also include cash advances on eligible credit cards and eligible debit retail purchases. Debit net spending uses the final charged amount after discounts and coupons, with Citi's stated foreign-currency conversion rule. Exclusions include Dynamic Currency Conversion, Octopus Automatic Add-Value and mobile Octopus add-value, Balance Transfer/Cash Conversion/FlexiBill/Paylite/Quick Cash/PayAll amounts, Inland Revenue Department payments, bills, utilities, auto-payments and recurring transactions, mutual funds, fees and charges, insurance, casino transactions, Faster Payment System transactions, charity donations for debit cards, unposted/cancelled/refunded/unsettled transactions, fraud/abuse, and other listed ineligible transactions. A fare or fee payment qualifies only if the service provider/OCL transaction data is received and the transaction is not cancelled; the provider's transaction type and OCL records/classification control. Citibank may request original sales slips and merchant receipts. Rebates are credited within five calendar months after the qualifying month and can only offset Octopus Automatic Add-Value transactions on a later statement; they cannot be transferred, exchanged, traded, or converted to cash. The relevant credit, designated, debit, and settlement accounts must remain valid and in good standing through the Promotion Period and rebate-fulfilment period; otherwise the Bank may forfeit rebates. Fraud, abuse, reversal, or cancellation may result in a debit of the rebate. Citibank decides eligibility from its records. The Bank may revise, modify, cancel, suspend, or substitute the promotion or rebate without notice. Promotion data is shared between OCL and Citibank for eligibility and fulfilment and is to be destroyed by 31 May 2028. Disputes are subject to Citibank's final decision. The English version prevails if versions differ, and these terms prevail over promotional materials. The terms also state that the referenced services are not offered to residents of a country where provision would breach local law. This is option (a): for each calendar month after registration, monthly Eligible Transactions must reach HK$4,000. It earns 15% Octopus Cash Rebate on qualifying Fare Payments, with a HK$300 monthly Fare Rebate cap per Designated Credit Card account. The cap includes the principal card, supplementary cards, and linked Designated Octopus. The 15% applies only to payments made on the designated services via approved Octopus Equipment. Designated Public Transport Services include MTR Airport Express, Disneyland Resort Line, East Rail Line, Island Line, Kwun Tong Line, South Island Line, Tseung Kwan O Line, Tsuen Wan Line, Tung Chung Line, Light Rail, Tuen Ma Line and Light Rail Shuttle Bus Service; all routes of Citybus, Kowloon Motor Bus and Long Win Bus; all routes of Sun Ferry, Star Ferry and Hong Kong & Kowloon Ferry (including Island Ferry and Winnertex Ferry); all red and green minibus routes; all electric-tram routes; and all licensed taxi services. Fare exclusions include Sun Ferry bus tickets sold at Central Pier ticket offices or 7-Eleven, Sun Ferry monthly tickets and freight fares, MTR Customer Service Centre products, MTR surcharges, Intercity Through Train tickets, and MTR rebate/discount amounts. Taxi exclusions include person-to-person payments, single transactions of HK$24 or less or HK$500 or more, and the third and later same-day payments between the same Octopus Equipment.
